Three high mountain districts: Lahul (Chandra and Bhaga valleys, with Tibetan Buddhist and Hindu communities), Spiti (the monastery of Tabo, founded in 996 under Guge patronage) and Kinnaur (Sutlej valley, Hindu and Buddhist, under thakur lords).
Each answers to the nearest strong hand: Chamba and Kullu in Lahul, Guge in Spiti, Bashahr-style thakurs in Kinnaur, and none is certain. Tabo is the one fixed thing: a mother-house of the Guge-related monastic network (see the religious record).

How things stand that morning
Mountain districts under local lords, with Guge/Tibet beyond.
Where the sources disagree
- The Tibet sheet gives anchors for Guge/Tibet along the crest; we give the Himachal districts as peoples.
On the map: A modern-district approximation of an old regional name.
