Bhil country

Forested hills from Kotra and Jhadol south through the Bhomat to the Mahi, where the population is Bhil and the Rawal's writ is a matter of gifts to headmen rather than of officers and revenue.

It produces nothing a treasury can count and cannot be garrisoned continuously. It is also where a beaten Mewar court goes, which is why the dynasty keeps surviving (board). A later custom of the Mewar coronation has a Bhil chief give the tilak; we note it as a tradition, not a fact for 1200. The Satpura Bhils, the Panch Mahals Bhils and the Idar hill Bhils are separate bodies of the same people.
