Twante

A delta village west of the Rangoon river.

The famous glazed Twante ware is mostly of later centuries, and Pagan-period kilns are inferred, not excavated (board). The 'short cut' canal between the western channels and the Rangoon river that the campaign board mentions is the Twante canal, built 1903 to 1915: it does not exist in 1200.

Where the sources disagree

  • The Twante canal is of 1903 to 1915 (brief trap 20): not in 1200.

Evidence: The campaign board entry only.

"The campaign board" is OMNIA's working map. These notes record where its earlier claims were checked against the sources.
