Port · The kingdom of Pagan under Narapatisithu · as at first light, 1 January 1200

Dala

The eastern delta port on the Rangoon river, across the water from the low Dagon hill.

The chronicle sets a governor here beside those at Bassein and Prome; no source we read dates him or names him. The Dala township centre in the gazetteer (16.68, 96.14) is not the town. The delta's 1200 shore lay inland of today's, so the river mouth and the creeks are not as the modern map draws them.
