Frontier town · The kingdom of Pagan under Narapatisithu · as at first light, 1 January 1200

Kaungsin and Sinbo

A stockade at the head of the defile above Bhamo covering the river gate into the kingdom, with the Sinbo gorge above it where boats are tracked by rope and a handful of men could stop a fleet (board).

Kaungsin is named in the Mongol campaigns of 1277 and 1283; whether a fort stood here in 1200 is inference, and its exact site is argued over.
