Toungoo reach

The middle Sittaung is a corridor of good ground between the Pegu Yoma and the Shan hills that carries the road from the dry zone to the Mon coast.

The town that gives its name to a dynasty is founded after Pagan's fall (board; the founding date is not checked here). In 1200 the place is the road and the river, with Karen and Pa-O villagers on the hills east.
