Three Pagodas pass

The lowest crossing of the whole Tenasserim watershed and the land gate between the Irrawaddy world and the Chao Phraya world: an army going either way goes through here or goes by sea.

The pass is said to be an old route of Indian monks (unverified). Its use in 1200 is inferred from geography and later centuries; the three small pagodas are much later. Across the pass the Khmer outpost of Prasat Muang Singh stands on the Khwae Noi (the Khmer and Lao researcher's ground) and the Mon of Kanchanaburi lie beyond.
