Waringin Sapta dam

The dam Airlangga threw across the Brantas where it breaks out and floods the delta, recorded on a copper plate of Saka 959 (1037; en.wikipedia's Airlangga page gives 1037 for the 'Kelagen' plate, the same plate under another name).

The plate says what it was for: to save the rice fields and to keep the boats running down to the port at Hujung Galuh. It is the largest public work any Javanese king is known to have built. Whoever holds the river holds the harvest and the road at once. The dam of 1200 is a century and a half old and the plate gives no later repair. The campaign board dot is near Mojokerto; the dam is in Jombang Regency on en.wikipedia.

Where the sources disagree

Evidence: Dam and date from en.wikipedia and the campaign board; the plate text did not open. Whether the dam still works in 1200 is not recorded.

"The campaign board" is OMNIA's working map. These notes record where its earlier claims were checked against the sources.
