Hantang

The village in the hills west of Malang whose copper plate of Saka 1057 (1135, Ngantang on fr.wikipedia) was cut for Jayabhaya after he beat Janggala and put the two halves of Airlangga's realm together; it carries the motto Panjalu Jayati, 'Kediri is victorious' (motto and Saka year from memory).

The village was made sima, free of ordinary tax, for its loyalty. It is the plainest thing the Kediri kings ever said about themselves. In 1200 it is a privileged village of the Malang hills.
