Termoli is the Molise's port, a walled bishop's town on a headland between the Biferno and the Sinarca, with a Norman castle.
Taken into the royal domain after the revolt of 1137 (it.wikipedia), it trades across the Adriatic: its maritime treaty with Ragusa is dated 1203 (later). The Venetian raid and Frederick II's rebuilding of the castle come in 1240.
