Annals of Montecassino; Annals of Ceccano (Fossanova)

Two sets of annals from either side of the papal and Sicilian frontier. For 1199 and 1200 they record Markward of Annweiler's march into Sicily and the battle near Monreale in July 1200 in which papal forces beat him, Innocent III's campaigns in the Campagna, the German captains in Apulia, and the counts of Ceccano and the lords of the Marittima. Short entries with precise dates; the Ceccano annalist is close to the papal court.
