A Swabian continuation of Otto of Freising written from the Staufen side. For 1198 to 1200 it tells of the double election, Philip's crowning at Mainz and Otto's at Aachen, and the opening years of the civil war in the Rhineland, Alsace and Swabia, naming the princes on each side. It touches on the Sicilian regency and Markward of Annweiler only in passing. Its treatment of 1200 itself is short, and it is better for the shape of the war than for exact dates.
