The official record of the commune. For 1200 Ogerio Pane names the year's consuls or podestà, reports the war with Pisa at sea and in Sardinia, Genoese shipping to Sicily, the Levant and the Maghreb, and the city's dealings with the Malaspina and the Riviera lords. It is the base for Genoa's politics and trade in the year, written to the commune's own credit. The companion Liber iurium holds the treaties behind the annals.
