Celano

Celano is the castle town of the counts above the north shore of Lake Fucino, the seat of Peter of Celano.

The town of 1200 stood on the hill and was destroyed by Frederick II in 1223, then rebuilt lower down on the hill of San Flaviano; the present castle is later.
