Soliga and Kuruba hills

The hill forests of the Biligirirangan and the Bandipur country support Soliga and Jenu Kuruba communities who gather honey, grow millet and know the elephant tracks.

They are outside the rice plain's government; the Gangavadi governors collect what they can at the edge.
