Country, circuit or people · The kingdom of Pagan under Narapatisithu · as at first light, 1 January 1200

Minbu tracts

The country west of the river watered by streams off the Yoma.

It is smaller and less reliable than Kyaukse but close to the capital and to the An pass; land reclamation accelerates sharply from about 1140 to 1210 on the scholarly summary, and a canal project of this reign to extend the watered ground southwards failed and was given up (English Wikipedia, Pagan Kingdom; Narapatisithu). The tract names Salin and Sagu come as much from later revenue records as from Pagan inscriptions, so the boundaries are indicative (board). The An pass leaves the plain at Ngape, a day's march from Minbu.
