Kadu and Katha country

The country above Tagaung where the river leaves the third defile at Katha, with the road up the Shweli valley from the Chinese border reaching the water there (board).

The Hmannan has the Kadu of Tagaung in revolt at Narapatisithu's accession in 1174 and quiet after (English Wikipedia, Narapatisithu), which is the best sign that they are Pagan's subjects. The campaign board places Katha as a Pagan landing, 'likely'; the evidence is one chronicle line and the shape of the road.

Where the sources disagree

Evidence: One chronicle line and the campaign board.

"The campaign board" is OMNIA's working map. These notes record where its earlier claims were checked against the sources.

On the map: The outline follows the modern Katha and Kawlin districts. The south edge is drawn along the line where the Mu valley outline ends, so Kawlin and Wuntho fall in this claimed zone.
