Žatec

Žatec, the 'urbs Satzi' of Thietmar in 1004, is the castle of the rich Žatec plain on the Ohře and the head of one of the oldest Bohemian provinces.

In 1200 it is a castle with a market settlement, not a chartered town; German settlers begin to come to the country from Ottokar's reign, some to Žatec, and the royal town is made by Ottokar II in 1265.
