Senj

Senj is the port where the road from the Kupa and Modruš comes down over the Kapela to the sea, opposite Krk.

It has had its own bishop since 1169, and Béla III gave the town to the Knights Templar in 1184; the counts of Krk, who had held it earlier in the 12th century, get it only in 1271. In 1200 it is the Templars' town and the kingdom's port on the Vinodol coast.
