Omiš

The Kačić harbour in the gorge where the Cetina reaches the sea: a fortified seat of sea lords rather than a commune, first named under this name in the 11th century.

The Romanesque tower of Peovica and the hill fortress above the town belong to its later defences; which works stood in 1200 is not recorded.
