Sapadalaksha is the name the Chahamana inscriptions give to their kingdom: the country of the Sambhar and Didwana salt lakes, Ajmer and Pushkar, the Bairat and Torawati hills to the north-east and the Toda and Naraina road toward Ranthambore.
Since 1192 to 1194 it has been broken between a Ghurid garrison at Ajmer, the Chahamana kin who remain, the salt revenues no one can show a holder for, and the hill clans.
