Kabaw valley

A long fever-ridden trough between the Chin hills and the Manipur hills, and the only practical land route from the Chindwin towards Bengal and Assam.

Armies that use it lose men to malaria before they meet anyone, and whose it is in 1200 is not recorded by anybody (board). English Wikipedia (Chin people) has the Chin reaching the Kale valley only around the late thirteenth or early fourteenth century, after Pagan's fall; the Manipur chronicle's Pong kingdom is identified with Mogaung (English Wikipedia, Kabaw Valley), with early dates nobody believes. Kalewa at the south end belongs to the Pagan river road.

The Manipur end (Imphal, Moreh) is the Northern India map's.
