The coast from the Kali to Bhatkal, with Gokarna, Kumta, Honavar and Karwar.
It is a string of river mouths behind a strip of coconut and rice, and the Hoysala-Alupa and Kadamba spheres overlap. Gokarna's Mahabaleshwara temple is the great holy place.
