Teliagarhi and the Rajmahal gap: the western door of Bengal

The narrow passage between the Rajmahal hills and the Ganges through which the Ganges road enters Bengal from Bihar; a fort at Teliagarhi and a landing at Sakrigali (board).

Banglapedia and the campaign board treat it as the western door of the Sena realm. Minhaj, as we remember it, brings Bakhtiyar to Nadia by the forest roads, not through this gap; we have not checked.

  • The campaign board entry the-rajmahal-gap and teliagarhi-pass are "likely" or "contested"; the sources we read do not say where Bakhtiyar crosses.

Evidence: The campaign board entry only.

"The campaign board" is OMNIA's working map. These notes record where its earlier claims were checked against the sources.
