Klosterneuburg

Neuburg on the Danube, first named in 1108, made a princely residence by Margrave Leopold III and Agnes of Waiblingen about 1113, when they founded the house that became the Augustinian canons' abbey in 1133 (the enamelled Verdun altar of Nicholas of Verdun dates from 1181).

A market settlement lies by the abbey and the ducal palace. The market half across the river (Korneuburg) belongs to it.
