Governor of Prome

Prome is the hinge between the dry zone and the delta and the eastern foot of the Taungup pass into Arakan.

The old Pyu city of Sri Ksetra, ruined, lies at Hmawza beside it, with the Bawbawgyi which the chronicle says Anawrahta opened for its relic. The chronicle has a prince of the blood governing it; the sources we read do not name one for 1200, and English Wikipedia puts the senior princes in these seats only later in the century.
