Pegu Yoma hills

The low forested range between the Irrawaddy and the Sittaung valleys.

The people in it are not recorded for 1200; the Karen page notes that Karen groups sit in the hills between the Mon plain and the dry zone, that Luce thought the Karen once lived in the Kyaukse and Minbu districts before the Burmans came, and that some southern Karen later joined the Palaung against the Burmans at Toungoo (all undated or later). The roads cross it at the passes between Prome and Toungoo. Nothing is shown.
