Frontier town · The court at Kyoto and its provinces · as at first light, 1 January 1200

Tsushima kokufu

The provincial seat on the south coast of Tsushima, the nearest Japanese land to Goryeo (a day's sail from Geumju).

The island grows little rice and lives by the Korea trade and by sending men to Dazaifu on the court's business. Its officials are local families (the Abiru [not yet checked against the source]); the Sō house comes in the 13th century and the Mongol landing is 1274, both later.
