The diary of the regent's heir, aged twenty-one in 1200 and already a senior courtier under his father Konoe Motomichi, who was regent (sessho) for the child emperor Tsuchimikado. It records the court ceremonies, appointments and rites of 1199 and 1200 from the regent's household itself, the retired emperor Go-Toba's court, the Fujiwara rivalries after the fall of the Kujo, and the formal dealings with Kamakura. Narrow but exactly contemporary and well informed about the court's inner workings in the year 1200. The digitised Kyoto scroll is dated to the seventh month of 1199.
