Port · The court at Kyoto and its provinces · as at first light, 1 January 1200

Tomo

A small port on the cape of Bingo where the eastward and westward tides of the Inland Sea meet, so that ships wait here for the turn of the tide.

Mentioned already in the Man'yōshū [not yet checked against the source]. Nothing is known to me of its lords or events in 1199 or 1200.
