Town · The Paramaras of Malwa · as at first light, 1 January 1200

Mandsaur

Dashapura is the old town of north-western Malwa, once the seat of the Mandsor inscriptions of the fifth to sixth centuries.

In 1200 it is a Paramara town in the Chambal and Gambhir country on the frontier with the Guhila and Chahamana lands, and it lay on the route a Ghurid or Gujarat column to Malwa might use.

Where the sources disagree

  • Jhalrapatan and Hinglajgarh are Hadoti ground that the campaign board gives to Malwa; whether they are Paramara or already under the Chahamana or Guhila marches in 1200 is not pinned.

"The campaign board" is OMNIA's working map. These notes record where its earlier claims were checked against the sources.
