Jaisalmer

A yellow sandstone fort on Trikuta hill in open desert, founded about 1156 (traditional) when the Bhati chief Jaisal moved off the exposed site at Lodhruva.

The Bhatis live on the tolls on caravans between Sind and the Rajput country, and on raiding the ones that will not pay. See Bhatis of Jaisalmer.
