Güstrow

Not a town in 1200: a Slav place to which Otto of Bamberg sent two priests in 1128.

The Wendish castle on the site of the later palace was built only in 1219, and Henry Borwin II of Rostock founded the town between about 1219 and 1226 (collegiate church 1226, Schwerin law confirmed 1228).
