An Icelandic kings' saga of Denmark that draws on Saxo and Danish tradition and ends in 1187 with Knud VI and Absalon's Wendish wars. For 1200 it is a Norse view of the Valdemarian kingdom and of Rügen's conquest, useful chiefly for names, ships and the Baltic coast as Icelanders at the Danish court knew it. Written fifty years later and not an independent witness for the 1190s.
