A hill city on the road from the Piave to the Valsugana and Trent, the seat of a bishop who is count of the Feltrino by Ottonian grant.
Since Bishop Gerardo of Belluno was killed by the Trevisans in 1197, the sees of Feltre and Belluno have been united under Feltre's bishop Drudo da Camino, who began Feltre's walls in 1179 and died in 1199 or by early February 1200. Feltre's forces fought beside Belluno against Treviso in 1196. Its peace with Treviso comes on 2 February 1200.

Drudo da Camino, probably a son of Guecellone II and Sofia di Colfosco, bishop of Feltre from before 1177 and of the united sees of Feltre and Belluno from 1197; last documented in 1199, he died in 1199 or before early February 1200 (it.wikipedia), so on 1 January 1200 he may be dead and the see vacant (not pinned); his successor Anselmo held it from about 1200 to 1204. The bishop is a Church map record; the towns have consuls.
