Chieri

A prosperous hill commune south-east of Turin, Asti's friend: in November 1172 Count Uberto of Biandrate made peace with Asti and Chieri, gave up his tolls and rights at Chieri and promised to defend the town.

It clashes with Turin and with Testona. Its municipal archive begins in 1194. Philip of Swabia will grant Chieri and Testona to Thomas of Savoy in 1207 (France map).
