Taiwan

The island lies a day or two across the strait from Penghu.

Its peoples are Austronesian villages with chiefs and age-sets and no state. Chinese knowledge is thin: Pisheye raiders who struck Penghu in 1171 are linked by Wikipedia to a people related to the Visayas of the Philippines, and by Zhao Rukuo in 1225 to the Visayas or to Taiwan; the question is open. Song patrols reach Penghu in the spring and summer.

The Yuan will land in 1292 and mistake the island for Liuqiu (Wikipedia, "Early Chinese contact with Taiwan"), which is far outside the date.
