Radha: the red-soil country west of the Bhagirathi

The laterite and rice country between the Rajmahal hills and the sea, west of the Bhagirathi: Bardhaman, the Ajay and the Damodar, Mangalkot and Katwa, Tribeni and Saptagram, and the Tamralipti coast.

The Sena family's own home is Radha before it is Gauda. The Damodar floods and the Ajay valley (board) shape the villages; the western Rarh has Jain temples (Deulghata, Telkupi) and is also the first thing Bakhtiyar's horsemen would meet from Bihar. The Subarnarekha edge towards the Gangas is the south-west march.

Where the sources disagree

Evidence: Sena plates; the western Rarh details are the campaign board's.

"The campaign board" is OMNIA's working map. These notes record where its earlier claims were checked against the sources.

On the map: A rough outline from rivers and ridges; the real order was villages, estates and chiefs.
