Gujarat Ismailis

Two Ismaili Shia communities of Gujarat.

The Bohras are traced to a mission sent from Yemen in 1067 to Khambhat (Cambay), in the days of Siddharaja's predecessors, and are traders; their organisation is a Yemeni dawa with local agents. The Khojas are Hindu merchants converted by Nizari Ismaili preachers (pirs) of the Satpanth tradition, whose dates are traditional and late. Both are small communities in the cities.

Their strength and any court favour in 1200 are not shown in the sources we reached.
