Wa headmen

The Wa live in the rugged hills west of the Lancang between the Mekong and the Salween; very little is known of their early history (English Wikipedia).

They are village communities with headmen and village priests, with no lord over them. Tang texts name Pu and Wang peoples west of the Lancang whom scholars connect with the Wa and their neighbours; we did not read these texts. No headman is named.
