Town · Tambralinga at Nakhon Si Thammarat · as at first light, 1 January 1200

Sichon

Brick shrine bases and stone fittings of a Hindu sanctuary on a hill north of Nakhon, some of the earliest Indian religious building on the peninsula (board).

By 1200 it is old ground rather than a working centre, and it shows how long this coast has been in touch with India. We could not check its date.
