Lancang crossing

The road from the Erhai to Yongchang and the Burma road goes by Yangbi and Yongping and crosses the Lancang (Mekong) in its gorge by a bridge or rope crossing.

The iron-chain Jihong bridge is of the Ming (1470s, recalled, NOT re-read); what stood in 1200 is not shown, but a crossing certainly did, because Yongchang fu lay west of the river under Nanzhao and Dali. The crossing is the choke point between the Dali core and the western fu.
