Hroznata is the great lord of the western border country between Plzeň and the Egerland.
After the deaths of his wife and son he turned his lands into foundations: the Premonstratensian abbey of Teplá in 1193, and a house for women at Chotěšov south-west of Plzeň. A crusade vow was commuted into these foundations; he himself took the Premonstratensian habit in Rome in 1198 and came back to Teplá only in 1202, where he managed the abbey's income. On 1 January 1200 he may well be away in Italy: his lands are run by his men and by the abbey, which is already taking over much of his inheritance.
His land touches the Staufen Egerland, whose ministeriales will one day kill him in captivity (1217).
