West Lampung

The Liwa basin (the tradition calls it Sekala Brak, the source of Lampung's later origin stories) and the surf coast of Krui, where pepper is brought down from the hills and loaded through the surf.

Hujung Langit near Liwa is an archaeological site of terraces and stones. The Palembang claim reaches the east and south coast of Lampung by an inherited claim, not this side of the range. The origin traditions of the Lampung peoples are late, and the pepper trade here is a board inference for 1200; we could not find the pepper dated.

Where the sources disagree

Evidence: Thin: later ethnography, the campaign board and geography; nothing dated near 1 January 1200 describes the people.

"The campaign board" is OMNIA's working map. These notes record where its earlier claims were checked against the sources.

On the map: Drawn on the modern regencies (kabupaten) that match the people's later homeland; the boundaries of 1200 are not known.
