Florez's volume 23 gathers the short annals of the peninsula. The first Toledan annals, in Castilian and contemporary for these years, date Alfonso VIII's campaigns, the fall of Vitoria, royal movements, deaths, eclipses and prices by the Spanish Era (1200 is Era 1238). The Compostelan and Lusitanian annals give brief Galician and Portuguese entries, the Burgos chronicle Castilian ones. Terse, but these are the dated skeleton on which the Castilian and Leonese chronicles hang.
