A late compilation, but one that quotes at length from Andalusi historians now lost or fragmentary, with material on the Almohad caliphs, their governors in Seville and Cordoba, the frontier with Castile and León after Alarcos, and the Almohad-period men of letters. Its lists of the caliphs and their viziers and its biographical notices are useful for names and dates in 1200; everything must be traced back to the source quoted. Gayangos's English version rearranges and abridges the historical parts.
