Visakhapatnam

A small coast town just south of Simhachalam, the Ganga limit by the temple inscriptions.

Tradition ties its name to a Vaisakha shrine built by a Chola king of the eleventh century (from memory); it is not the port of later centuries. Which of Ganga and Velanati holds it is not recorded.
