Sirpur (Shripura) was the Panduvamshi capital of Dakshina Kosala and has temples and Buddhist monasteries of the seventh to ninth centuries.
Rajim (Rajivalochana) is the Vaishnava temple town at the meeting of the Mahanadi and the Pairi. Both are old holy places and not the seats of power in 1200; by then Sirpur is much reduced.
