Shiotsu is the northern port of Lake Biwa at the end of the Shiotsu road from Tsuruga, where goods from the Hokuriku sea come over the pass by pack-horse and go on by boat to Ōtsu and Sakamoto.
This is the Ōmi end of the road that carries the north's goods to the capital (the brief names the Tsuruga to Biwa road as shared with the sheet to the east). The coordinate is approximate, to a few kilometres.
