Pataliputra (Patna): the old capital on the Ganges and Son

The ancient capital at the meeting of the Ganges, Son and Gandak, now a river town without a king.

We opened no source on Pataliputra in the twelfth century; the sense of the campaign board and the sources is that Magadha has no king and that the Ganges road runs past it. The name Patna and the later city belong to the sixteenth century.
